Coles Promo Codes 2026: Every Working Code (Verified)
Most pages that promise you a Coles promo code are wasting your time. They list codes like SAVE10NOW or WELCOME15 that were never real, hide the working ones behind an affiliate click, and never tell you the one thing that actually matters: almost every Coles code only works if you have never placed a Coles Online order before.
This guide does the opposite. Every code below is taken directly from Coles’ own offers page, with the real terms and conditions attached. If a code is new-customer-only, we say so. If there is no working code for what you want, we say that too – and then we show you what to do instead.

Working Coles Promo Codes Right Now
These four codes are published by Coles itself. All of them are for new Coles Online customers only – meaning you have never placed an order through Coles Online before. Every one is valid until 11:59pm AEDT, 30 August 2026.
| Code | What you get | Minimum spend | How many times |
|---|---|---|---|
| ONLINE20 | $20 off your first 3 Coles Online shops | $125 per shop | 3 per customer |
| NEW | Free delivery on your first online shop | $100 | 1 per customer |
| BAGS | Free paper bags (max $2 value) | $50 | 1 per customer |
| COOKIES | Free Coles Ultimate Cookies 40% Chocolate Chip 400g | $50 | 1 per customer |
The terms that apply to all four, straight from the Coles T&Cs:
- You must shop via coles.com.au or the Coles app. Orders placed through Uber Eats do not count and are explicitly excluded.
- They work on both delivery and Click & Collect orders.
- The minimum spend is calculated after other savings and discounts are applied – so your trolley needs to clear the threshold at the final price, not the pre-discount price.
- Smoking and tobacco products are excluded from the qualifying spend.
- If you modify your order after the promotional period ends, the discount is removed. This catches people out constantly.
- Coles adds a line stating the offer is valid only for the email address associated with the account that received the communication – so codes shared around online can fail on someone else’s account.
You can only use ONE code per order
Our verification policy
We do not invent codes, and we do not publish codes we cannot trace back to a source. Every code above links to a Coles page you can check yourself. Every expired code we mention is clearly labelled as expired, with the date it ran – because knowing the pattern of Coles’ expired codes is genuinely useful, as you will see below. What we will never do is dress up a dead code as a live one to keep you on the page.
Why Your Coles Promo Code Did Not Work
If you typed a code into Coles checkout and got an error, it is almost certainly one of these seven reasons – roughly in order of how often it happens.
1. You are not a new customer
This is the big one, and it is the reason most people end up on pages like this feeling cheated. ONLINE20, NEW, BAGS and COOKIES all require that you have never placed a Coles Online order. Not “no order this year” – never. If you ordered groceries online from Coles once in 2021 and forgot about it, every one of these codes will fail for you.
Coupon sites almost never say this plainly, because admitting it means admitting they have nothing for the majority of their visitors. Existing customers are not locked out entirely – there is a second, completely different code system that does work for them, and we cover it in detail below.
2. Your trolley is below the minimum after discounts
Coles calculates minimum spend after savings and discounts. A $130 trolley that contains $12 of half-price specials counts as $118 – which fails the $125 threshold for ONLINE20. Check the final total on your order summary, not the ticket prices.
3. You are ordering through Uber Eats
Coles groceries are available through Uber Eats, and the two systems are completely separate. Every Coles promo code excludes Uber Eats orders – it is written into the terms of all four codes. Uber Eats runs its own Coles offers, which we cover in their own section.
4. The code expired – or was never real
Coles’ campaign codes typically run for one to two weeks. A code you found on a coupon aggregator in March is almost certainly dead by July. Worse, a lot of coupon pages publish codes that were never issued at all – invented strings like SAVE10NOW or SPRING20 that look plausible and do nothing. If a code has no source and no expiry date attached to it, treat it as fiction.
5. You tried to use two codes
There is one promo code field. Codes do not stack with each other. They do stack with Flybuys points and weekly specials, which is a different thing entirely – see the stacking section.
6. You modified the order after the offer ended
A quietly brutal clause. If you place an order with a valid code and then edit that order after the promotional period closes, Coles removes the discount. Place the order and leave it alone.
7. You typed it wrong
Coles’ own Help Centre says to “enter the code exactly”. Codes are not case-sensitive in most cases, but stray spaces from copy-pasting will break them. Type it by hand.
Which Code Should You Actually Use?
Coles gives new online customers four codes and exactly one promo code field at checkout. Every coupon site lists all four as though you can have them all. You cannot. You get one, so the only question that matters is which one is worth the most – and the gap between the best and worst choice here is around $58.
| Code | Times you can use it | Value per use | Total value |
|---|---|---|---|
| ONLINE20 | 3 | $20 | $60 |
| NEW | 1 | The delivery fee, up to $15 | Up to $15 |
| COOKIES | 1 | One packet of cookies | A few dollars |
| BAGS | 1 | Capped at $2 | $2 |
It is not close. ONLINE20 is worth roughly four times the next best option, and about thirty times more than free bags. Unless your shop genuinely cannot reach $125, ONLINE20 is the correct answer, and everything else is a distraction.
The split-shop trick: turn $20 into $60
Here is the part almost everyone misses, and it is worth an extra $40 of groceries.
ONLINE20 is not a single $20 discount. Read the terms carefully: it is $20 off each of your first three Coles Online shops, with a maximum redemption limit of three per customer, and a $125 minimum on each one. Coles is offering you $60, but only if you shop three separate times.
So if you are new to Coles Online and you were planning one big $375 stock-up shop, you would enter ONLINE20, get $20 off, and walk away having burned one of three redemptions on a single order. Split that same $375 across three orders of roughly $125 each, enter ONLINE20 on all three, and you get the full $60.
Same groceries, three times the discount
Two things to watch when you do this. First, the $125 minimum is measured after savings and discounts, so build each trolley to around $135-$140 at ticket prices to be safe. Second, the offer expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 30 August 2026 – all three shops need to be placed before then, so do not leave the third one too late.
Check whether free delivery is already applied
There is a genuine wrinkle here that is worth sixty seconds of your time. Coles publishes NEW as a promo code for free delivery on your first shop. But the Coles Help Centre, on its page about applying promo codes, also says this:
Some promotions are automatically applied at checkout and don’t need a code. This could include offers like Free delivery on your first shop or promotions that depend on a spend amount.
In other words, Coles itself lists first-shop free delivery as something that can land without a code. So before you decide to spend your one code slot on NEW, build your trolley, go to checkout, pick a delivery slot, and look at what the delivery fee actually says. If it is already showing as $0, you do not need NEW at all – put ONLINE20 in the code field instead and take the $20 as well.
We are not going to promise this works on every account, because Coles targets offers by email address and it clearly varies. But it costs you nothing to look, and if it does apply, you have just picked up free delivery and $20 off in the same order.
Choose your code by trolley size
| Your order total (after discounts) | Use this code | Why |
|---|---|---|
| $125 or more | ONLINE20 | $20 off, and you can do it three times. Nothing else comes close. |
| $100 to $124 | NEW | You cannot reach ONLINE20’s threshold. Free delivery is the best available. Or add $10-$15 of pantry staples and switch to ONLINE20 – you will be well ahead. |
| $50 to $99 | COOKIES (or BAGS) | These are the only two you qualify for. Cookies are worth more than bags. |
| Under $50 | None | No first-shop code applies, and Coles has its own minimum order requirement for online shopping anyway. |
If you are between $100 and $124, do the sum
A worked example
Say you have just moved to Australia, you have never used Coles Online, and you need to stock an empty kitchen – realistically $350 to $400 of groceries, from rice and oil to cleaning products and a decent frying pan’s worth of pantry basics.
- The obvious approach: one $380 order, code ONLINE20, $20 off. Plus a delivery fee unless free delivery lands automatically.
- The better approach: three Click & Collect orders of about $130 each across two or three weeks, ONLINE20 on each. $60 off, and no delivery fees at all because you are collecting.
Same shopping list. Same total spend. A $40 difference, plus whatever the delivery fee would have been. That is a week of groceries, for the price of scheduling two extra pickup slots.
Coles Promo Codes for Existing Customers
If you have shopped with Coles Online before, everything above is closed to you – and this is the point where most coupon sites either go quiet or start making things up. So let us be direct: there is no permanent, always-on Coles promo code for existing customers. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling you a click.
What actually exists is a second, completely separate code system that Coles runs alongside the new-customer offers, and it is open to everybody. Understanding how it works is the difference between never getting a discount and getting $20 off every few weeks.
Coles runs two different code systems
| First-shop codes | Campaign codes | |
|---|---|---|
| Examples | ONLINE20, NEW, BAGS, COOKIES | MATCH20, TEAM20, GAME20, FEST10 |
| Who can use them | New Coles Online customers only | Anyone, including existing customers |
| How long they last | Months – currently to 30 August 2026 | Usually one to two weeks |
| Where they are published | Openly, on the Coles offers page | Email, app notifications, and deal forums |
| Typical offer | $20 off $125, three times | $20 off $200, once |
Campaign codes are the ones you want. They are not advertised on the Coles offers page, which is precisely why so few people know they exist.
The pattern: how Coles campaign codes actually behave
Here are real Coles campaign codes from the first half of 2026, with the dates they were circulating. All of these have now expired – we are not pretending otherwise. The value is in what they reveal.
| Code | Offer | When it ran | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| FEST10 | $10 off $150 in one transaction (excluded Deliver More) | May 2026 (Coles Fest) | Expired |
| MATCH20 | $20 off $200, app or online | Late May 2026 | Expired |
| TEAM20 | $20 off $200, app or online | Mid June 2026 | Expired |
| GAME20 | $20 off $200, app or online | Late June 2026 | Expired |
Look at that list and the system becomes obvious:
- The offer barely changes. It is $20 off a $200 shop, via coles.com.au or the Coles app, one redemption per customer. Coles is not varying the deal – it is varying the name.
- The names are football-themed. MATCH20. TEAM20. GAME20. These are footy-season codes, and Coles is a major sponsor of Australian football. That is also why coles footy promo code is a real search term that people type every week.
- They rotate roughly every one to two weeks. MATCH20 in late May, TEAM20 in mid June, GAME20 in late June. A new name, the same $20.
- They are open to existing customers. Unlike the first-shop codes, these carry no “new customer” restriction – just a minimum spend and a one-per-customer limit.
Current status as of 12 July 2026
Yes, you should try the old code anyway
This sounds like bad advice and it is not. These codes do not always die on schedule, and they sometimes overlap – shoppers on Australian deal forums have repeatedly reported an “expired” Coles code still applying at checkout days after a newer one appeared, with people telling each other to try the previous code when the current one failed, and vice versa.
Trying a dead code costs you nothing but ten seconds and an error message. Coles does not penalise failed attempts. Before you check out with a $200+ trolley, it is worth typing in the last few known codes on the off-chance one is still live.
But do not count on it
How to catch the next campaign code
Since the codes are not published on the Coles website, you have to get them from where they are actually distributed. In rough order of how reliable each channel is:
- Turn on Coles app push notifications. This is the highest-value thing on this list. Campaign codes are almost always valid “via coles.com.au or the Coles App”, and Coles pushes them to app users directly. Notifications are off by default for a lot of people – go into your phone settings and turn them on.
- Subscribe to the Coles email newsletter, and actually read it. Because Coles ties some offers to the email address that received them, a code that arrives in your inbox is the one most likely to work on your account. This is the single most reliable source there is.
- Watch the OzBargain Coles feed. When Coles drops a code, it is usually posted to OzBargain within hours, with the full terms and a comment thread of people confirming whether it worked for them. You can set a deal alert for Coles and have it emailed to you. It is the fastest public source in Australia.
- Link your Flybuys account. A lot of Coles’ personalised offers – bonus points, spend-and-save, targeted discounts – are delivered through Flybuys rather than through Coles directly. If your Flybuys is not linked to your Coles account, you are invisible to that entire channel.
- Know the calendar. Coles Fest, footy season, Christmas and Black Friday are when the codes cluster. If you have a big stock-up shop you can delay by a fortnight, delaying it into a campaign window is worth $20.
The spend-and-save offers that need no code at all
One more thing existing customers should know. The Coles Help Centre explicitly says that some promotions are applied automatically at checkout with no code required, and gives “promotions that depend on a spend amount, like Spend $200 and get $20 off” as its own example.
So the $20-off-$200 discount that everyone is hunting a code for sometimes simply appears on qualifying orders without one. If you are building a $200+ trolley and no code is working, get to the order summary anyway and look at the totals before you assume you have missed out. The discount may already be sitting there.
Coles Plus and Coles Plus Saver: The Real "Promo Code"
Thousands of Australians search for a Coles Plus promo code or a Coles Plus Saver promo code every month. Here is the honest answer, and then here is something much more useful than the answer.
There is no standing public promo code for either membership. Coles does not discount them with a code you can just type in. What Coles does offer is a one-month free trial of Coles Plus for new subscribers, and a cheaper annual rate – and for most people, those two things are worth more than any code would be. More importantly, the memberships themselves are, for a very common type of shopper, the single largest discount Coles offers anyone.
What each membership actually gives you
| Coles Plus Saver | Coles Plus | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $7 / month | $19 / month, or $199 / year |
| Headline benefit | 10% off one Coles shop per calendar month, capped at $50 off | Unlimited free delivery on orders over $50 |
| Click & Collect | – | Free Rapid Click & Collect on orders over $30 |
| Flybuys | Double points (2 per $1) | 2 points per $1, and 10 points per $1 on liquor bought online |
| Works in-store? | Yes – in-store, app or online | No – it is a delivery and collection benefit |
| Free trial | No | Yes – one month free for new customers |
| Flybuys must be linked | Required | Required to earn the bonus points |
They are not competing products. One saves you money on groceries; the other saves you money on delivery. Coles lets you hold both at once and the benefits combine.
Coles Plus Saver: the break-even is $70
The maths here is unusually simple, and unusually favourable. Plus Saver costs $7 a month and gives you 10% off one shop. So:
$7 ÷ 10% = $70. If you do a single grocery shop of $70 or more in a calendar month, the membership has paid for itself. Everything past that is profit.
| Your biggest single shop that month | 10% discount | Less the $7 fee | You are ahead by |
|---|---|---|---|
| $70 | $7 | -$7 | $0 – break even |
| $100 | $10 | -$7 | $3 |
| $150 | $15 | -$7 | $8 |
| $200 | $20 | -$7 | $13 |
| $300 | $30 | -$7 | $23 |
| $500 | $50 (the cap) | -$7 | $43 |
| $700 | $50 (still the cap) | -$7 | $43 – no extra benefit |
The discount is capped at $50 per calendar month, which means the perfect Plus Saver shop is exactly $500. Beyond that you are leaving the cap on the table, so there is no reason to build a single trolley bigger than $500 – split the excess into a separate shop.
Use it or lose it – every single month
Two mechanical details that catch people out:
- In-store, you must scan. The 10% only applies if you scan your Coles barcode in the app or your linked Flybuys card at the checkout. Forget to scan and you get nothing.
- Online, the month is decided by delivery date. If you place an online order in one calendar month but it is delivered or collected in the next, Coles allocates the discount to the month it arrives. Order on 30 June for a 2 July delivery and you have used your July discount, not your June one.
And what the 10% will not touch: gift cards, iTunes cards, Coles Insurance, charity donations, tobacco, mobile and tech accessories including recharges, Opal top-ups, calling cards, delivery fees, subscription fees, anything from Liquorland, and anything bought through Uber Eats. Fill the trolley with actual groceries.
Coles Plus: the break-even is about two deliveries
Coles Plus is $19 a month and covers delivery on any order over $50. Coles states members can save up to $15 per delivery, based on the maximum online delivery fee. Real fees vary by slot – a quiet midweek window is cheap, a Saturday evening one is not.
- If your typical delivery fee is $15, you break even at 1.3 deliveries a month. Two deliveries and you are clearly ahead.
- If your typical delivery fee is $10, you break even at 2 deliveries a month.
- If you get groceries delivered once a month or less, Coles Plus loses you money. Do not buy it.
Pay annually and the sum improves: $199 a year against $228 if you pay monthly – a saving of $29, or 12.72%, which is Coles’ own figure. That brings the effective cost to about $16.58 a month.
The liquor loophole is the best-kept secret in Coles Plus
The one-month free trial is the discount
If you are searching for a Coles Plus promo code, this is what you are really looking for. Coles offers new Coles Plus customers one month free. Your first billing date falls at the end of the trial, and you can cancel before then and pay nothing at all.
Used properly, that is a genuinely free month of unlimited delivery. Sign up, do your delivered shops for four weeks, and then decide with real evidence whether the fee is worth it for how you actually shop – rather than guessing. Set a calendar reminder for day 25 so the decision is yours and not a forgotten direct debit’s.
Beyond the trial, two other routes surface periodically. Coles has run Coles Plus Week promotions with a join code attached – PLUSFREE circulated during one such campaign – and cashback sites have at times offered cashback on Coles Plus sign-ups. Neither is permanently available, and we are not going to pretend they are. If you are joining anyway, it is worth thirty seconds checking whether a cashback offer is live first.
So which one should you get?
| If this is you | Get | Because |
|---|---|---|
| You do one big monthly stock-up shop, in-store or Click & Collect, and you have a car | Plus Saver | $7 buys you up to $50 off. Nothing else Coles sells is this good. |
| Student or single, smaller shops, no car, need delivery | Coles Plus | Only if you get 2+ deliveries a month. Otherwise skip it and take the free trial to find out. |
| Family, big monthly shop and regular top-up deliveries | Both | Coles allows it and the benefits combine. $26/month for up to $50 off plus unlimited delivery. |
| You buy wine or beer online regularly | Coles Plus | 10 points per $1 on online liquor is about 5% back. |
| You shop at Coles a few times a month, small baskets, always in-store | Plus Saver, if any | Just make sure one shop a month clears $70, or you are paying for nothing. |
Do not stack a membership you will not use
Coles on Uber Eats and DoorDash: A Separate Economy
This is where a lot of money gets lost, because two things that look identical are governed by completely different rules. Buying Coles groceries through the Coles app and buying Coles groceries through the Uber Eats app are not the same transaction, and almost nothing carries across.
No Coles promo code works on Uber Eats. None of them.
What you lose when you order Coles through Uber Eats
| Coles app / coles.com.au | Coles via Uber Eats | |
|---|---|---|
| Coles promo codes (ONLINE20 etc.) | Yes | No – explicitly excluded |
| Flybuys points | Yes | No – excluded from qualifying spend |
| Coles Plus Saver 10% off | Yes | No – excluded |
| Coles Plus free delivery | Yes | No |
| Full product range | Yes | Around 17,000 products – large, but not everything |
| Speed | Scheduled slots, or Rapid | On-demand, typically much faster |
Read that table again, because the cumulative cost is bigger than it looks. An Uber Eats grocery order earns you no Flybuys points, accepts no Coles code, and does not count toward your Plus Saver 10%. If you are paying $7 or $19 a month for a Coles membership and then doing your shopping on Uber Eats, you are paying for benefits you are actively bypassing.
Uber Eats is for when you need groceries in the next hour. It is not for your weekly shop. Use it deliberately, not by default.
Uber Eats runs its own Coles offers – and they can be very good
The flip side is that Uber Eats promotes Coles hard, with its own discounts that have nothing to do with Coles’ code system. These rotate, and they are frequently more generous than anything Coles offers directly. Recent examples that have circulated on Australian deal forums include:
- 20% off a minimum $80 Coles spend, capped at $20 off, with free delivery – which is the same $20 discount Coles gives you for a $200 shop, at less than half the trolley size.
- $25 off a $100 Coles order for Uber One members.
- $30 off a Coles order with a $40 minimum spend for Uber One members – proportionally the largest grocery discount in this entire guide.
The comparison people never make
Two honest caveats. First, product prices on Uber Eats are often higher than in Coles itself, so a 20% discount does not always translate into a 20% saving against what you would have paid. Compare the final total. Second, these offers are heavily weighted toward Uber One members – the subscription is a real cost, and it only makes sense if you use Uber Eats or Uber rides regularly for other things too.
Coles and DoorDash: read this before you go looking
People still search for a Coles DoorDash promo code every month, and coupon sites still list them. Here is the current situation, which is more subtle than either side admits – and it is the reason so many people end up confused.
There are two completely different things both called “Coles and DoorDash”.
- Coles as a store you shop inside the DoorDash app. This is what people mean when they search for a code. Coles moved to an exclusive on-demand partnership with Uber Eats, expanding its Uber Eats range by around 50% to roughly 17,000 products, and stepped away from the DoorDash marketplace. Woolworths went the other way and partnered with DoorDash. So if you open DoorDash looking for Coles, the honest expectation is that it will not be there – and a “Coles DoorDash promo code” therefore has nothing to apply to.
- DoorDash as the courier who drops your Coles Online order at your door. This still happens. Coles’ own Help Centre lists DoorDash and Uber among its partner drivers, and any slot marked “Partner delivery” or “Rapid” may be driven by one of them. This is purely a logistics arrangement. You ordered through Coles, so your Coles promo code works completely normally – the driver’s uniform is irrelevant to your discount.
In short: seeing a DoorDash driver deliver your Coles shop does not mean you shopped on DoorDash, and it does not affect your codes, your Flybuys or your Plus Saver discount by one cent. But shopping for Coles inside the DoorDash app is no longer the path it once was. If you want on-demand Coles, it is Uber Eats. If you want DoorDash groceries, that is now Woolworths, ALDI and others.
Delivery partnerships change – check the app
The cheap delivery options people forget
Before you pay for a membership or a delivery platform, check whether you simply qualify for cheap delivery already.
- $2 mid-week delivery. Coles has offered $2 delivery on midweek slots with a $50 minimum spend. The catch is significant: it excludes Victoria and New South Wales, and excludes remote deliveries. If you are in Queensland, WA, SA, Tasmania, the ACT or the NT, this is worth checking before you consider Coles Plus – $2 a delivery is cheaper than a $19 monthly membership unless you are ordering very often.
- Click & Collect. The most underrated saving in this entire guide. It removes the delivery fee entirely, at no membership cost, which means the split-shop ONLINE20 strategy earlier costs you nothing in fees at all. If you have a car or a store on your commute, collect.
- Free delivery on your first shop. Covered earlier – either via the NEW code, or possibly applied automatically. Check your checkout before spending your code slot on it.
Stacking: What Actually Combines With What
Promo codes do not stack with each other, but they do combine with several other savings mechanisms – and understanding the order in which Coles applies them is what separates a $20 saving from a $70 one.
| Saving | Combines with a promo code? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Another promo code | No | One code field. They compete, not combine. |
| Half-price and weekly specials | Yes – automatically | But they lower your total, which can drop you under the code’s minimum spend. See the trap below. |
| Earning Flybuys points | Yes | You earn on the spend regardless of the code. |
| Redeeming Flybuys points | Yes | 2,000 points = $10 off. Applied at payment, not in the code field. |
| Coles Plus Saver 10% | Separate mechanism | Shows as a Loyalty discount, not a promo code. Check your order summary. |
| Coles Plus free delivery | Yes | It affects the delivery fee, not the trolley. |
The trap: specials can kill your promo code
The correct order of operations
- Take every special. Half-price items are typically a bigger discount than any code. Never avoid a special to protect a threshold – just add more to the trolley instead.
- Check the final total against your code’s minimum. $125 for ONLINE20. $200 for a typical campaign code. If you are short, add pantry staples you will use anyway – rice, pasta, tinned tomatoes, laundry powder, toilet paper. Things that do not expire.
- Enter your one promo code.
- Let the membership discount land. If you have Plus Saver, the 10% appears separately under Loyalty discounts.
- Redeem Flybuys points at payment. 2,000 points is a straight $10 off. Online you will need to select Coles Pay as your payment method, and you can redeem up to 10,000 points.
- Earn points on what you spend. Which funds the next redemption.
What Flybuys points are really worth
People wildly over- or under-estimate this, so here is the arithmetic. The standard Coles redemption is 2,000 points for $10 off. That means one point is worth half a cent.
| Situation | Points per $1 | Effective return |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Flybuys at Coles | 1 | 0.5% |
| With Plus Saver or Coles Plus (double points) | 2 | 1% |
| Coles Plus, liquor bought online | 10 | 5% |
So double points is not a headline benefit – on $800 of monthly Coles spend it is worth about $4. It is a bonus on top of the 10% or the free delivery, not a reason to subscribe on its own. The online liquor rate is the outlier: at 5% back it is the best points earn Coles offers anyone.
The bigger Flybuys wins are the activated bonus offers in the Flybuys app – things like “spend $50 in one transaction for four consecutive weeks and collect 10,000 bonus points”, which is $50 of value for shopping you were doing anyway. These must be activated before you shop or they do not count. Open the app before your weekly shop; it takes ten seconds.
A fully-stacked Coles shop, worked through
Existing customer, Plus Saver member, doing the big monthly stock-up. Target: the $500 sweet spot that exactly maxes the $50 discount cap.
| Step | Effect | Running total |
|---|---|---|
| Trolley at ticket prices | – | $540 |
| Half-price and weekly specials | -$40 | $500 |
| Plus Saver 10% (capped at $50) | -$50 | $450 |
| Redeem 2,000 banked Flybuys points | -$10 | $440 |
| Click & Collect instead of delivery | -$0 fee | $440 |
| Less the Plus Saver monthly fee | +$7 | $447 all-in |
$540 of groceries for $447, and you also collect 1,000 Flybuys points on the way (double points on $500), worth another $5 toward next month. That is a genuine 17% off a full monthly shop, using nothing but mechanisms Coles publishes openly. No promo code required at all – which is rather the point of this whole guide.
If a campaign code happens to be live that month and your total clears $200, that is potentially another $20 on top.
How to Apply a Coles Promo Code (Exact Steps)
Straight from the Coles Help Centre, with the one step that trips everybody up flagged.
- Add everything to your trolley.
- Select the trolley icon to go to Checkout.
- Choose a delivery or collection time. This is the step people miss. The promo code field does not appear until you have selected a slot. If you cannot find anywhere to enter your code, this is almost always why.
- On the Order summary page, find the promo code field.
- Enter the code exactly and select Apply. Type it by hand – copy-pasting drags in trailing spaces that break it.
- The code now appears in the payment details section, with the discount applied to your order. If you do not see it there, it has not worked, whatever the field says.
Check the total, not the confirmation message
Troubleshooting: error by error
| What is happening | Most likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Code is rejected as invalid | Expired campaign code, or a code that was never real | Check the source. If it has no expiry date attached, assume it is fiction. |
| Code rejected, but you know it is current | You are not a new customer, or the offer is tied to another email address | Nothing to fix. Use the existing-customer strategies above instead. |
| Code applies but nothing comes off | Your total fell below the minimum after specials | Add items to clear the threshold on the final total. |
| No promo code field anywhere | You have not selected a delivery or collection slot | Pick a time slot; the field appears. |
